Chickens inspire Offaly photographer

Founding member of Birr Photography Club Robert Revill has revealed the subject matter for his photography exhibition that's set to run throughout August as part of Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival - chickens! "Dan's Chucks" by Robert Revill features as its subject matter a variety of chickens owned by Daniel Dunne of Ballincur, Kinnitty. "Different breeds of chicken have very definite behavioural characteristics, while individual chickens have very distinct personalities," Robert said. "The idea was to capture the individual chicken's personality in a portrait, much the same as you would for a human subject." Whether or not he has succeeded will be clear to all who visit the exhibition, which will show at Bia-Licious Café, The Heritage, Main Street. Robert has been a keen photographer for the past 30 years. He has been a Birr resident since 2005, when he moved to the area from the UK.
