Ard Ollamh Award to Attracta Brady

Offaly traditional music legend Attracta Brady was last night honoured with the Ard Ollamh Award at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2012 in Cavan in recognition of her contribution to Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann. The award, the top honour in traditional music circles in Ireland, was conferred on the Offaly woman at the Ard Ollamh Celebration dinner, which was held in the Hotel Kilmore in Cavan last night (Thursday). Attracta is a well-known musician and was chairperson of the Fleadh Organising Committee for the event in Tullamore for its three years from 2007 to 2009.
