Eden Gardaí appeal for info

Gardaí in Edenderry are appealing for information from the public regarding a number of incidents that occurred in Edenderry and Daingean last weekend. Last Saturday , September 15, a man's wallet containing a small amount of cash was stolen when he stopped to offer directions to a passing car while out walking in the Ballycolgan area of Edenderry. The incident, which involved a silver or grey car, happened at approximately 2.45pm. Two houses were also broken into on the Carrick Road in Edenderry last weekend. The first of the two houses was broken into at approximately 3am in the early hours of Sunday, September 16. Intruders entered one house through the front door and some cash and a watch was taken. The second house was broken into at some point between 9pm on September 15 and 8am on September 16. A cheque book and laptop were taken from an office in the house, though the laptop was later recovered in the garden. On Monday, September 17, a premises in the Dunnes Stores Shopping Centre in Edenderry was broken into at approximately 5.45am. Sgt Kevin Quinn said two intruders were involved in the incident where cash was taken, one wearing a hi-vis vest and another wearing a baseball cap and a dark top.
