Work on Mount Leinster transmitter may affect local Saorview viewers
Local Saorview television viewers may need to re-scan their televisions before Wednesday, November 7 to avoid loss of service following final upgrade work on Mount Leinster transmitter. While viewers who receive service from Sky or UPC will be unaffected, a Saorview spokesperson said Mount Leinster is to change from channel 45 to channel 23. The change will strengthen Saorview coverage in Offaly, while the work also means Mount Leinster will be de-coupled from a transmission site in Wales. Instructions on how to re-scan Saorview equipment can be found in television or set-top box manuals. Anyone who is unsure whether or not they are affected can check an online coverage map at www.saorview.ie or call an information helpline on 1890 222012.
