Knife point robbery at Tullamore restaurant

Gardaí in Tullamore are appealing for information from the public after a masked raider armed with a knife made off with money from the till of fast food restaurant Abrakebabra on Church Street in the town on Tuesday night. Speaking to the Offaly Independent Tullamore's Sergeant Tony Quinn said the raid took place at some time between 9.15pm and 9.30pm. The raider - a lone male - entered the premises with a knife and had his face covered with "some form of mask" according to Sergeant Quinn. After threatening two male staff members present in the fast food outlet the culprit made off with money from the restaurant's till. Gardaí are viewing CCTV as part of their enquiries into the incident. They have also appealed for witnesses who were in the area at the time, particularly on Church Street or Market Square, to contact them on 057 9327600 or call the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
