Increased rail services proposed for Tullamore and Clara

Tullamore will see an increase in daily rail services to and from Dublin from next Sunday, January 20. A statement from Iarnród Eireann today (Tuesday) said Tullamore will see service frequency increase from eleven trains from Dublin and 13 trains to Dublin increase on that date to twelve trains from Dublin and 15 trains to Dublin each day. In addition Clara is to see an increase from seven to eight trains from Dublin daily, while services to Dublin from that station will remain at twelve each day. The rail company has advised rail users to check timetables however, as a number of significant departure time changes are proposed. Rail users will no doubt be glad to hear changes have also been proposed in journey times. Journey times on the Dublin-Galway line are to improve by between five and 25 minutes, while journey times on Dublin to Westport services are to improve by between five and 20 minutes.
