It's all about KK...part 2!

The latest effort in support of Kilcormac Killoughey hurlers hit the internet last Tuesday, and already it’s garnered some 2,000 hits on video sharing website YouTube.

“Super KK Style” by MC Micky Mook is thought to be hurling’s first rap anthem, and the man behind the anthem is hoping it will give both players and fans alike the lift they need for Sunday’s all-important clash in Croke Park.

Recorded in Celtic Bulldog Studios in Athboy, music for “Super KK Style” was written by Ko-Kahn and lyrics written and performed by the mysterious MC Micky Mook with the exception of the chorus that’s delivered by Moma Rose. Describing the tune MC Micky Mook said the song has “a mad-catchy sing-in-the-back-of-bus chorus that stays with you”.

“It came to me out of the blue,” the song’s composer told the Offaly Independent this week, adding that he “had no intention of writing anything”.
Looking through YouTube for Kilcormac Killoughey supporter songs however he said he found little for young people, and so he penned “Super KK Style” with youngsters in mind.

Recorded over two evenings last week, a video was added last Friday with help from Kilcormac Leaving Cert students Shane Guinan, Shauna Bracken, Colleen Costello and Peter Troy.

The results were put online last Tuesday, March 12 and together with “KK Rock Me” by Paudge Bennett has been attracting viewers ever since.
