Clara's Tots2Teens to re-open in September

Clara childcare service Tots2Teens is to re-open a pre-school service from September 2013, it has been confirmed.

The one time full daycare service in Kilbride Gardens that employed 14 people closed in June last year on a HSE recommendation in the wake of adverse weather conditions resulting in a roof leak.

Works to the tune of €36,000 as a result of Childcare Capital Programme funding from Pobal are currently taking place at the Tots2Teens building, with a completion date expected within a month.

Speaking to the Offaly Independent this week Tots2Teens board member Wendy Buckley said enrolments for the new pre-school service are now being taken. She said a recruitment drive will also begin shortly for a small number of people who will staff the new service.

Ms Buckley said the once popular local service is going to “start small” and see what need there is locally from there. “We’re certainly open to expanding the service once it’s viable,” she added.
