Shooting incident in Edenderry

A shooting incident has occured this morning (Thursday) in the townland of Shean, Edenderry. Gardaí in Tullamore are investigating the incident.

According to Gardaí the incident happened at approximately 10.40am this morning. They say a number of shots were fired at a man in his mid-40s while he was leaving his house in a silver Volkswagen Passat from a silver Astra salon car with a partial registration of 06-D.

The man in his 40s drove a short distance away before colliding with a ditch and overturning his car, they said. Nobody was injured in the incident, however the driver and his three passengers sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Gardaí in Tullamore are now appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Shean, Edenderry between the hours of 9.30am and 10.40am this morning, May 2, anyone who was in the vicinity where the silver Volkswagen Passat overturned and anyone who observed the silver Astra car with the partial registration 06-D in the vicinity of Shean to come forward.
