Keeley to record new album

Tullamore singer Brendan Keeley has reached out to supporters in a bid to fund a new album. The estimated cost of making the album is just under €20,000, but the singer has promised supporters it will be a hit. Supporters can pledge any amount to the campaign until June 6, while pledges of €20 or more, €100 or more or €5,000 come with special perks.

“When I started in 1995 I could not get even a distribution deal for my single, so I travelled all over Ireland to all record shops selling it in to them. I then began singing the song outside the shops selling it to people in the street. This is the level of determination I have to make a project successful,” Brendan says.

Contributors of at least €20 will get two copies of Brendan’s new album in September as well as two tickets to its launch party. Those giving €100 will get four VIP tickets to the launch party as well as four signed albums, backstage passes and a personal meet and greet. Those giving out a whopping €5,000 will buy themselves a private concert at a venue of their choice within Ireland as well as ten VIP tickets to the album launch, ten signed albums and backstage passes.

On his fundraising page - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/new-album--27 - Brendan breaks down the album costs to ensure transparency. Recording ten songs in studio is estimated at €7,500. Producer and engineer fees are €4,500, while session musicians will cost €1,000. Mastering costs, sleeve design and photography will all cost €500 while manufacturing 1,000 albums is estimated to cost €850. The final amount of €4,500 will cover an effective online, radio and television campaign, bringing the project total to €19,850.
