TMS on the search for Annie

“Annie” is the next production to be staged by Tullamore Musical Society, and the group is looking for just the right girl for the role.

The search will begin in earnest with an audition on Sunday, September 8 at noon in the Tullamore Court Hotel, while a final audition will take place on Sunday, October 6 in the GAA Centre.

The girl Tullamore Musical Society is looking for will be aged between seven and 13. The role they will play is that of tough streetwise urchin Annie, who turns vulnerable when her newfound family might be lost to her.

Throughout the show Annie shows independent, needy, maternal and hopeful qualities. Though at times she is aggressive or crafty, she is in the main a friendly and caring child.

Displaying Annie’s characteristics through acting ability will be accompanied by singing, with Annie’s songs in the production including “Tomorrow”, “It’s a Hard Knock Life” and “Maybe”.

Tullamore Musical Society’s production of Annie will take place from February 16 to February 22.
