OFFline Film Festival starts tomorrow

The OFFline Film Festival begins tomorrow (Wednesday) with a screening of 'The Moo Man' in Birr Theatre and Arts Centre.

While there are a number of other activities taking place as part of the festival, one thing that really jumps out as an attractive option is a drive in cinema at Birr Rugby Club from Thursday to Sunday next.

The OFFline Film Festival will feature screenings of national and international films in a unique selection of venues in Offaly. There is also a series of workshops being run based on a selection of aspects of filmmaking.

Over the course of the festival, the OFFline Filmmaking Challenge will see teams of filmmakers from far and wide descending upon the Georgian town of Birr to shoot and edit a short film over a matter of days.

The festival culminates on Sunday next with a screening of the resulting films from the Filmmaking Challenge and the announcement of the winners who will not only take home a generous cash prize, but also bag themselves a guaranteed slot at the Galway Film Fleadh 2014.
