Xtra-vision/HMV to open in Edenderry next weekend

Popular retailer HMV opened in Tullamore last weekend, and last night it was revealed that a new Xtra-vision/HMV integrated store will officially open in Edenderry next Saturday, November 2.

In all there are plans to open 28 of the dual branded stores countrywide. The final ten of those – Edenderry, Ballina, Sligo, Cavan, Letterkenny, Shannon, Ashbourne, Blanchardstown, Ashleaf and Balbriggan – will all be opened Saturday week, while 18 had October opening dates.

To celebrate the official opening next weekend Xtra-vision will be offering opening day “Door Buster” deals on a first come first served basis, including blu-ray players for €9.99, games consoles from €150, new release music from €7.99, movies from €2.99 and new release games from €29.99.

Commenting on next weekend’s openings CEO of Hilco Capital Ireland – the company behind both Xtra-vision and HMV – Larry Howard said integrating HMV with Xtra-vision is an exciting way of bringing the HMV brand all over Ireland.

“Most of these towns have never had a HMV store located in close proximity, and Hilco is looking forward to delivering the HMV experience to these locations,” he said. “We hope the people of Edenderry welcome and embrace the new Xtra-vision/HMV store in town.”
