Australian comic for Tullamore

Tullamore is the destination for Australian comedian, satirist and musician Kieran Butler on Friday night. The comic will delilver his lauded Edinburgh Fringe show “Australia is F*cked” for free at Joe Lee’s new comedy room “Seomra Beag” at 9pm.

Butler is a Melbourne University student of History, Politics and Economics who has a strong grasp on how the world turns. He has captured this will hilarious effect in his new show. Organisers say the show is for you if you’ve been or are thinking of going to Australia, if you like a laugh, a sing song and a cheap night out and possibly if you want to change the world.

Kieran Butler has received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals and is a regular contributor to radio stations in Scotland and Melbourne. He is best known in Australia for his solo stand up show “Collingwood Ruined My Life”, which consistently sold out over three years at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

He got a four star review from The Scotsman for his 2007 show “Che Guevara on the Fringe”, and he also performs as one half of “Whimsical Tricycle” with his musical and life partner Michelle Wilson.

Throughout 2009 and 2010 he wrote and performed the full length parody musical “Ben Cousings - a rock opera”, while in 2011 he performed “Ned Kelly - Last Stand Up” in Melbourne and Perth.

He performed at the 2012 and 2013 Melbourne International Comedy Festival with “Freedom of Speech” and “Infamaniac”, and also hosted the “Raw Prawn Comedy Cocktail” podcast throughout the 2013 festival. He returns to the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe in “Australia is F*cked”.
