New sam keeley movie set for general release next month

Up-and-coming Tullamore actor Sam Keeley walked the red carpet as a leading man for the first time at Leicester Square in London last Thursday.

Sam's father Brendan, himself well-known as a musician, told the Offaly Independent his son was nervous ahead of the premiere of 'Monsters: Dark Continent', but still ready to reveal his work to the world.

The movie went down well with critics, with one describing Sam as a 'hero'.

For his own part Brendan admitted to being 'blown away' by his son's performance in the movie.

'We were bursting with pride,' he told the Offaly Independent. 'We couldn't speak after.'

'Monsters: Dark Continent' is set for general release late next month.
