Temperatures set to plummet

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow low temperature weather warning as the cold snap continues.

It will be very cold and icy nationwide tonight with temperatures dropping to around -3 or -4 degress Celsius and lower in parts of Leinster and Ulster.

The warning came into effect at 5pm and will remain in place until 10am on Wednesday morning. Met Eireann is also forecasting some sleet and snow mainly along the north and east coasts.
