Man arrested over alleged attempted abduction

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted abduction of a child at Cullahill in Co Laois yesterday.

The man was arrested in Co Kilkenny this afternoon and taken to Portlaoise Garda Station.

An appeal for assistance had been made in relation to a stolen jeep. The stolen vehicle, registration number 04 KK, has been located and recovered by Gardaí.

Gardaí thanked the public for their assistance in this matter.
