Santa’s Giant Post Box returns to Tullamore

Pens and paper at the ready, Santa’s 16ft tall post box has been reinstalled in O’Connor Square.

A source in the North Pole reports that Mr Claus was so impressed with the participation of local children last year, he ordered the return of the postbox in the hopes that he will receive even more letters this year.

The post box was designed by artist Mark Quinlan and constructed by local business Concrete and Quarry last year.

Children will be able to post their letters beginning on the evening of Sunday November 29 coinciding with Tullamore’s Chamber of Commerce Christmas lights switch-on in the town.

It is hoped that Santa’s elves will be there to help assist in reaching the mail slot, but confirmation has not been received from the North Pole yet!

In order to ensure that the letters reach their destination, make sure to address them to the man himself, Santa Claus, followed by North Pole and place a 70c stamp on the envelope. Early posting will get a reply from Santa through his friends in An Post!
