Offaly Rose Jennifer Byrne, from Ballinahown, said she couldn't believe she had been selected as Rose of Tralee.

'I wasn't expecting it at all,' she said. She admitted that when it had dawned on her that she had won: 'My heart was about to jump out of my chest.'

Stating that it was 'absolutely phenomenal' she said: 'I hope I can be a good ambassador for the Rose of Tralee festival.'

She describes her experience of the Rose of Tralee Festival starting off with the Rose Tour in Kildare.

And her proud Dad Declan gave his reaction.
