Countdown to Grand Canal Walk fundraiser

Club Faithful, the main supporters club in Offaly, holds it's main fundraiser for the year on October 27 next in Tullamore entitled the Grand Canal Walk.

It is a sponsored walk/run to raise much needed funds for both Offaly GAA and Crumlin Children’s Hospital. The walk will begin and finish in B.N.M O’Connor Park in Tullamore and the route is along the Grand Canal with the option to complete anything from 1 to 25 km. Registration will begin at 9am and the walk will begin at 10am.

Part of the funds raised will go to the completion of Faithful Fields where there are now four pitches fully lit to provide training facilities for all of our teams.

Since the opening of the Faithful Fields our development squads and underage teams have seen huge improvements. Now is the time to invest in our youth and allow them to grow and prosper.

Crumlin Children’s Hospital provides world class care year round to the children of Ireland. Not all children get the opportunity to fulfil their sporting dreams but Crumlin Children’s Hospital and all of its staff work tirelessly to ensure that as many children as possible get the chance to live out their dreams.

To get involved with this much needed fundraiser you can register online to walk or run for just €25 or sponsor a walker - simply search the name of the participant in the search bar and sponsor them as much as you wish.

Alternatively, you can have your name placed on the ‘Wall of Sponsors’ at B.N.M O’Connor Park available to anyone who raises/donates €100. Any company that would like to support the event and get their name on the wall get in contact at 087 7043681.

On the day of the event many of our current senior footballers and hurlers will be present as well as many of our former All-Ireland and Leinster winning players from both codes.

Our current senior managers, Kevin Martin and John Maughan will also be in attendance.
