Fiona and Owen are Lord and Lady of the Dance

The buzz words in Killeigh and Tullamore this week is still Jigs N’Reels, everyone is talking about the show and the dancers who took to the stage in the fundraising event for Killeigh Community Centre Development last Saturday 17th November in Tullamore Court Hotel.

After several months of planning for the show by the hard working committee and 10 weeks of training in Fergie’s function room, the volunteer dancers took to the stage on Saturday night with pride and confidence. Their costumes were also fabulous thanks to the main sponsor Kevin Gorman Fastway Couriers.

The choreographers Samantha Hughes and Ciana McGarrigle, kindly sponsored by Cash & Carry Furniture, may not be able to perform miracles but the transformation from the start of the training to produce this fantastic performance shows the confidence and ability and commitment of this great group of dancers. There was huge excitement building all day for the dancers especially in the ‘My Fair Lady’ suites as they were all getting hair done by Genevieve Hair Salon and make up by Nakid.

The panel of judges, who were sponsored by Walsh Brothers, were Damien White, Karen O’Brien, James Hogan and Fergal and Neal Tully from the TV show Goggle Box, who were very popular with the audience. Event hospitality was kindly sponsored by Gerry Walsh Energy Superstore. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Mr Brian Gavin, who was kindly sponsored by Guy Clothing and Glenisk, controlled and delivered this superb show with grandeur and made the couples feel relaxed even though they all were bursting with excitement and energy.

The huge sold out crowd on the night were treated to extravaganza of entertainment by the dancers and also lots of slide shows displaying the event sponsors, all kindly sponsored by Tullamore Pipe and Drain Cleaning’ and the overall photography was sponsored by Paula Nolan.

Congratulations to the winners Owen Dillon and Fiona Hunt, who would like to thank their dance sponsors: Pilates Solutions, Ray Dunne Quarrymount Meats, The Sportsman Inn, D&S Hardware and Ace Braces.

Owen is from Killurin and a builder with Killurin Construction and was also sponsored by Tullamore Chiropractic Clinic, Pilates Solutions and Chris and Jimmy Kinahan.

Fiona is a keen member of Kilcavan Mothers and Others Football and was representing Darren’s Barbers, The Sportsman Inn and Alan Gorman Bicycle Shop.

The organising committee would like to extend a massive thank you to all the sponsors and advertisers for their generosity and support for this event which will greatly assist the effort to give Killeigh a community centre for all to be proud of.
