Local writers group launch first book

A Tullamore-based writers group reached a major milestone recently with the much-anticipated launch of their first ever book called ‘Whisperings’.

The group, called Tullamore Wordsmiths, meet each Thursday in Tullamore Library from 5.45pm to 7.45pm, and they say they are “overwhelmed” with the reaction to their first publication.

They would like to thank the many people who supported the launch of “Whisperings” last week, and also to those who have purchased copies of the book. Members have received many heartening messages of congratulations, and they feel their book would make an ideal Christmas present for loved ones both at home and abroad.

The dynamic members of Tullamore Wordsmiths say the launch of “Whisperings” marks the beginning of the journey on the road to literary recognition for all the contributors to the publication, either with another group compilation, or as individual authors in their own right, or indeed, both.

With the continued support of each other, and also the encouragement of family, friends and the wider community, the members of Tullamore Wordsmiths feel they can achieve their full potential as writers.
