Eden firm raffle €10k kitchen to raise funds for local family

An Edenderry firm is raffling a €10,000 kitchen to raise funds for the family of a local woman who has spent the last three months in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Direct Wholesale Kitchens is giving away a kitchen to the value of €10,000 with all of the funds raised going to the Emily Harte McNamee Fund.
Popular mother-of-two Emily suffered the cardiac arrest on the evening September 2, the same day her son Aiden started school. She was at home with her then six year old daughter Pippa at the time. Pippa showed maturity beyond her years and contacted the emergency services, which doctors say saved her mother's life.
The Harte family's struggles are compounded by the fact that Aiden suffers from Dravet's Syndrome, a rare and potentially fatal form of epilepsy, and Emily was his full -time carer.
The people of Edenderry have rallied around Emily's husband Paul and their children in their time of need. An online fundraising campaign started last month has raised €80,000, while a host of community groups in the area have also held fundraising event.
The draw for kitchen will take place in February. Tickets (€10) can be purchased on Direct Wholesale Kitchen's website, https://www.directwholesalekitchens.ie/.
This Sunday, December 1, a 5km Santa Run/Walk is taking place in Edenderry with all funds raised going to the Harte family. The run, which gets underway at 2pm, starts and finishes at the town's credit union.
The entry fee is €10 for adults and €20 for a family. Participants are encouraged to wear Santo hats or costumes.
