Mucklagh boy to run marathon for charity

A Mucklagh boy who is aiming to run a marathon over 10 days for charity has already raised a fantastic €1,786.

Finn Coleman (10) is running 5km everyday up and down his village for The Jack and Jill Foundation and Laura Lynn, the national children's hospice.

While at home the family have been doing a lot of walking, running and cycling so Finn decided that his exercise should help a worthy cause, and with the help of his parents set up a gofundme page six days ago with the target of collecting €200. Thanks to the fantastic support of friends, family, and local businesses Finn has smashed that target, and at the time of writing has collected a total of €1,786.

Finn's brother Oisín (6) is also helping the effort by accompanying him on some of his runs around Mucklagh village in a bid to complete 42.2km.

He has set up a Strava account to record each run and hopes to finish the challenge in the coming days with a little over 10km left.
