Met Eireann predict “mostly dry” conditions

After Storm Ellen the weather appears to have returned to more settled conditions, with Met Eireann predicting drier periods today. ESB networks have addressed most of the faults in the wake of Thursday night's storm, but they are still working on an outage in Shercock affecting 51 customers.

It will be generally cloudy today with showers or longer spells of rain moving in from the west. However, it looks set to become mostly dry by evening with sunny spells and just well-scattered showers. Top temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees in fresh west or southwest breezes.

Tonight there will be clear spells and scattered showers overnight, a few heavy ones possible. Minimum temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds.

Sunday will bring a mix of sunny spells and showers and winds will be noticeably lighter than in preceding days. Top temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with moderate northwest breezes.
