One of the region's main hotels to remain closed until February 1

One of the midlands' most prominent hotels has announced it will not reopen until February.

Last evening, the Tullamore Court Hotel confirmed that it would stay closed until February 1.

Noting that it had only been open for 151 days during 2020, it described the situation as "a heartbreaking reality for our team, our hotel, and our town."

The statement continued: "We are devastated to announce Tullamore Court Hotel will now reopen on 1st February 2021, following the introduction of Level 5 restrictions and the impact on hospitality."

It said that vouchers could be purchased on its website, tullamorecourthotel.ie during the closure, and phone lines will be open Monday to Saturday from 9-6pm on +353 (57) 934 66 66

"We will look forward to welcoming you back next year, and hope that you may continue to #SupportLocal until then. Stay Happy, Stay Hopeful, and Stay Safe!," the statement concluded.

During Level 3 restrictions, the hotel had announced that it would not reopen until December 3, but this has now been extended to February 1.
