A scene from the Dunphy’s Centra Rhode Jerusalema Challenge video, which has had over 30,000 views in just five days.

Team Dunphy have got the Jerusalema bug!

Kieran Dunphy and the team at Dunphy’s Centra in Rhode know when to toe the line – and when to tap, turn, kick and sway!

The crew, who are getting rave reviews locally for their version of the Jerusalema Challenge, have shown when it comes to fancy footwork, it’s not just An Garda Síochána and the swish cops of Switzerland who can chance their feet at fancy dancing.

"We did just an hour’s rehearsal," reveals assistant manager Ben Kilmurray, who got the ball rolling by throwing out the suggestion last Monday in the staff groupchat that they do their bit for Rhode by representing it in the online craze.

Team member Steven Hurst, through his involvement with the Rhode dance group Shockwaves, figured out the steps, and the camera work was done jointly by Ben Kilmurray and Kieran Dunphy Jnr.

Great craic was had during the effort says Ben, adding that a good crowd of onlookers had gathered as the outside shots were filmed.

"We did it on Thursday and posted it to Facebook and Instagram and have been getting an incredible reaction with over 30,000 views!" says Ben.

"Customers have been commending our efforts for lifting the spirits of the locals during this difficult time.

"It was very easy to get the staff involved: I suggested it early in the week and boom we were dancing away on Thursday and a local sensation by Friday.

"The main game was to lift local spirits and for some socially distanced staff bonding and it was well achieved."

Ben reckons that it was owner Kieran who stole the show with his Irish dancing segment at the end.

Owner Kieran Dunphy was the star of the show with an Irish dancing segment in the finale of the Jerusalema Challenge by staff of Dunphy’s Centra, Rhode.
