No 'traditional homecoming' for victorious U20s

There will be no traditional homecoming for the victorious Offaly U20 team who defeated Roscommon today in Croke Park today, to claim the All Ireland title, the first in the county since 1998, Offaly County Board has confirmed.

In a brief statement on social media this evening, Offaly County Board said:

"Everyone in Offaly is overjoyed by the victory of our U20 team in the All Ireland Final today. Congratulations to all involved.

"However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will not be a traditional homecoming event. The team and management will be honoured appropriately when it is permitted to do so.

"Meanwhile, Offaly GAA urge our supporters to please celebrate this All Ireland title in a manner that complies with Government and HSE guidelines," the statement signed by Chaiperson Michael Duignan ends.
