Offaly man captains Defence Forces footballers to victory over UK Armed Forces

Offaly man Scott Delaney, 2nd Bde Tpt, captained the Irish Defence Forces footballers in a dramatic victory over the UK Armed Forces today.

Delaney plays with Athlone Town FC in the League of Ireland. Ireland were 2-1 down deep in injury time when Ryan Gaffey, 6th Inf Bn, a Willow Park player in Athlone, popped up with a dramatic 94th minute equaliser.

The Irish went on to win the game on penalties.
