Tullamore business wins at Energia Family Business Awards

A company in Offaly has been awarded the Best in Customer Service in Energia Family Business Awards.

The awards recognise local and international enterprises across the island of Ireland.

The theme for 2021 was recognising the resilient spirit that has come to the fore in response to the unprecedented challenges that the pandemic has presented.

Lion.ie, a life insurance provider based in Tullamore run by Nick McGowan, came out on top in the category of customer service at a special virtual event hosted by Today FM presenter Matt Cooper.

Criteria for the category that the judges considered include an ability to retain customers over long periods of time, offering value for money in the goods/services provided and providing goods/services known for exemplary quality.

The awards have recognized businesses across the island of all shapes and sizes, with hundreds of entries received across all categories and 18 well-deserving winners crowned at the ceremony.

Strong representation was seen from different industries nationwide which demonstrated the tenacity of Irish family businesses.

Speaking about the Family Business Awards, Alan Mulcahy, Head of Sales at Energia, said:

“We are very proud to announce the winners of the Energia Family Business Awards. The past 18 months have been exceptionally challenging for business owners all across the island of Ireland and beyond.

"The resilience, creativity and innovation they have shown in order to continue serving their communities and sustaining employment has been extraordinary, and these awards are a reflection of that effort. We congratulate all of our winners and wish them well for the future.”
