Major success for Spartacus Boxing Club at Celtic Box Cup

After a frustrating two years of Covid restrictions and lockdowns, Spartacus Boxing Club in Cloncollig, Tullamore was delighted to return to competitive boxing recently at the prestigious Celtic Box Cup in Dungarvan, where one of their boxers won the 60kg box club champion and also Boxer of the Tournament.

Spartacus Club member, Paul Loonam (60kg), enjoyed huge success at the Celtic Box Cup by being crowned the 60kg Box Club Champion and also Boxer of the Tournament. Paul is coached by his dad, Paul Loonam Snr.

The other Spartacus boxer who competed in Dungarvan was Eoin Meaney, who bowed out at the quarter final stage on a split decision after a very close and tough contest.
