Grand National win for Molloy in festive race

A total of 30 Tullamore Harriers club members completed the annual Christmas Grand National race recently.

Daniel Molloy emerged as the winner of the hidden handicapped race, having worked hard to gain considerable ground on each lap.

The second finisher was Sarah Stephens and third was Liam Lynam. Liam Byrne was 5th and Nita McLoughlin was 6th.

Fastest man was Michael Murphy and fastest lady was Pauline Curley.

The race started in the club car park, with athletes going out the back gate, before turning left at the rugby club. Then they went left again on to the Charleville Road and in the front gate of the Harriers. This loop was completed four times, making up the 5k distance.
