Update: Male dies in Tullamore house fire
A male in his early 60s died in a house fire in Tullamore this morning.
Offaly Fire Service received a call just after 7.30am about a fire at a house in the Screggan area. Two fire engines and a jeep were deployed from Tullamore Fire Station.
When the blaze was brought under control the man's body was discovered in the house, which was destroyed in the blaze. No other persons were injured. The deceased man's body remains at the scene and the State Pathologist has been notified.
The Garda Technical Bureau will conduct an examination of the scene and Tullamore Gardai have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
