Ceremony to remember those who died during pandemic

Offaly County Council will host a Covid 19 Remembrance and Reflection ceremony today Friday 18 March at 12 noon in O’Connor Square, Tullamore to remember all those who have lost their lives during the pandemic, and pay tribute to front line workers and everyone who has contributed, including each Community Call forum, to how we have faced and are facing the challenges together.

The ceremony, led by Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr Robert McDermott, provides an opportunity to pause and reflect on the last 2 years. The ceremony allows for individual and collective remembrance and commemoration of all those who died and who have been bereaved, whilst acknowledging the scale and impact of the end-of-life care that individuals gave to the dying and their families in each community during the pandemic.

Tullamore Comhaltas kindly providing reflective music for this event.

All are welcome, especially those who have lost family members and friends to the COVID 19 pandemic.
