Over €100k funding for historic buildings in Offaly

Over €101,000 funding has been announced for historic buildings in Offaly as part of this year’s Historic Structures Fund (HSF).

The largest allocations go to Cloneyhurke House, Portarlington and Lowland House, Fancroft, on the Offaly/Tipperary border, both of which get €38,000.

Meanwhile, the Tullamore Former Gaol, Cormac Street, Tullamore receives €25,000.

Minister Pippa Hackett said she delighted that Offaly historic structures will receive funding for their conservation, announced today by Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcolm Noonan.

"Well done to Offaly County Council’s heritage team who put a lot of work into these applications. I am especially pleased to see that this funding allows for the completion of restoration of railings and gate of Tullamore Gaol.”

“These projects not only help to conserve our built heritage but they add value to our quality of life, our tourism offering and keep traditional skills alive,” she said.
