Killeigh Fun Day and BBQ to return on June bank holiday weekend

A family fun day and barbecue for the local community in Killeigh will return for the first time since the pandemic during the upcoming June bank holiday weekend.

The popular event took place on the June bank holiday in 2018 and 2019, but it could not be held in 2020 or 2021 due to the pandemic.

This week, the Killeigh community centre development association said it was delighted to announce the event would return on Monday, June 6, from 2-6pm at the Killeigh GAA grounds.

This year organisers are confident that this year's event will be bigger than ever, with lots of activities planned for the young and old.

As in previous years, activities like Throw The Welly, Tin Can Alley, Chin up Challenge, Basketball Hoops, Hang the Jersey and the Wheel of Fortune - where fantastic prizes will be up for grabs - are all set to take place on the day.

In addition, there will be lots of activities for the smaller children in the astro pitch.

Committee members will also be available on the day to inform the public on about the ongoing progress around the development of the new community centre at the old Marca Hall site.
