Offaly Explorer Bus Service makes summer return to tourist attractions

TFI Local Link Laois Offaly is delighted to announce the return of the Offaly Explorer Experience Bus Service for the summer.

Commencing today (Friday, July 1) until Sunday, September 11 the bus service will operate across Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday throughout the day giving various options to explore Offaly.

Service users can take advantage of the bus service and explore Ireland’s Ancient East and Offaly’s Hidden Heartlands attractions using the TFI Local Link Laois Offaly bus service. With the Offaly Explorer Experience buses people can hop-on and hop-off across two different routes and tailor their own sightseeing itinerary.

They can enjoy a nice lunch and a stroll around Shannonbridge Marina, Birr Castle or Lough Boora Discovery Park.

Tourists or locals can avail of a one day or two day or just a single ticket. Family tickets and group discounts are also available. Ticket prices start from €2. Free Travel Passes are accepted also.

The routes will be operated by local bus operators, Digan Bus Hire Ltd and K Buggy Coaches Ltd on behalf of TFI Local Link Laois Offaly with the buses on all routes being wheelchair accessible and branded TFI Local Link. Both routes cross over in Tullamore three times a day so people can hop on and off for the different routes.

Route 1 runs from Tullamore to Lough Boora to Shannonbridge and Clonmacnoise before returning. Route 2 travels from Tullamore to Lough Boora, Banagher Marina and Birr Castle before returning.

TFI Local Link Laois Offaly is funded by the National Transport Authority, under the Rural Transport Programme to promote and support local businesses and provide transport in unmet areas.
