Repurposed wedding outfit wins style event at Kilbeggan Races

The largest race meeting of the year was held at Kilbeggan Races recently where Ireland’s very first Sustainable Style Ladies Event sponsored by Bellamianta Luxury Tanning took place.

Industry expert Mark Rogers took the reins as Judge of this year’s event on behalf of Bellamianta which is one of the country’s top brands.

Fashionistas attended from every part of Ireland to show off their upcycled, borrowed, handmade and thrifted outfits, in hopes of winning the incredible €5,000 prize. The ultimate winner was 32 year-old Mary Gardiner, who took home prizes from Bellamianta, BodyByrne, Annutri, Casmara, True Beauty, Kotanical, Polished London, Declaré Skincare, Linen Shirt Company, Pelo Hairdressing and Voduz, as well as €1,000 cash.

Mary wore a beautiful ivory one-piece long sleeved jumpsuit with a deep v neckline from Net-A-Porter. The outfit was originally bought with the intention of wearing it on her wedding day, but Mary and her partner paused wedding preparations when they found out they were expecting a baby. The jumpsuit was paired with an ASOS belt and Jimmy Choo wedding shoes along with a breathtaking handmade flower crown featuring an array of and roses in vibrantly beautiful colours. It was freshly created by Mary using flowers from her mother-in-law’s garden.

Speaking about the win, Mary said: “I am in complete shock! I have been coming here all of my life and I am so grateful for the opportunity.”
