Sessions in 'every nook and cranny in the town'

There will be street sessions in “every nook and cranny in the town” in the coming days, the chair of the organising committee says.

While some people have expressed disappointment at the relatively low number of street sessions in the first half of the fleadh, organising committee chair Joe Connaire says that will all change when from tomorrow (Thursday) when people start arriving for the competitions which take place on Friday and Saturday.

“I have no doubt that when the musicians that are competing in the competitions come in the real good street sessions will be in every nook and cranny in the town.

“...Not until tomorrow will you see a major crowd. I think from tomorrow on the weather is promised good and it will be a different event from tomorrow on.

“People will come into town and get settled for the competitions starting on Friday. The dancing is starting in Loreto on Friday at nine o'clock. There will be a lot of people around for the Friday competitions and then the big mayhem around all the venues will start 10 o'clock on Saturday morning when all the music, singing and lilting and all the other competitions will start.”
