Frankie meets Britain's Got Talent star in Athlone

Popular local musician Frankie McDonald met Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle in Athlone recently.

The trumpeter spotted the Scottish singer in Athlone Train Station where he got a picture with her.

Boyle, who shot to fame with her jaw-dropping audition for Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, was passing through and was spotted by the former member of The Drifters.

“I always admired her since Britain’s Got Talent when she blew the judges and the audience away and left them with their mouths open,” he said of her rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ .

While Susan just lost out on winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 – dance troupe Diversity won the competition that year, but her debut album, 'I Dreamed a Dream' became the UK’s best-selling debut album of all time.

Since then, she has released several other hit albums, performed on America's Got Talent Champions, and sang at the delayed Tokyo Olympics.
