Breast Cancer Awareness Presentation in Tullamore tomorrow

An educational Breast Cancer Awareness talk will take place in Ballycommon Training Centre, Tullamore tomorrow (Friday) starting at 10am.

As part of Social Inclusion Week, BCI Outreach Co-Ordinator Carol Scott will give an informative talk on breast cancer at the local training centre.

Carol is both a registered nurse and registered midwife. Before starting with Breast Cancer Ireland, she worked as a registered nurse with primary care in Tullamore.

The 40 minute presentation facilitated by Carol will explore the following:

- Carol will go through the eight signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and how to do a self-check exam.

- She will bring a mannequin with her with the visual of the signs of breast cancer on it, along with the opportunity to feel what a lump feels like.

- Q&A Session.

-Tea, coffee and light refreshments.

- She will also give out free shower cards on the day along with going through their app, which sends a discreet monthly reminder to complete a breast check.
