Johnny Kelly named as new manager of Offaly senior hurlers

Portumna native Johnny Kelly was this week announced as the new manager of the Offaly senior hurlers, succeeding Michael Fennelly.

Kelly served as a coach under Fennelly, whose time in the role came to an end in July after three seasons in charge.

As a club manager, Kelly has had success with Portumna, Coolderry and Borris-Ileigh.

He has managed the Galway under-21s and Roscommon, is currently in charge of Tipperary club Nenagh Éire Óg.

Yesterday (Monday) the Management Committee of Offaly GAA said it was pleased to recommend his appointment as the new manager of the county's senior hurlers.

Offaly will play in the Joe McDonagh Cup next season and will be in Division 2A of the Allianz League.
