Offaly native Mundy to perform in Birr next month

Birr man and singer songwriter Mundy will perform a headline show at Birr Theatre and Arts Centre next month.

Mundy's mainly acoustic, folk-based pop/rock has been compared to Damien Rice and Josh Ritter. However, his style is more upbeat and celebratory than either, and his jangle pop influence and tendency to experiment with unconventional sonic textures and beats further distinguishes him.

Mundy's synonymous track Galway Girl reached number 1 in the Irish Singles Chart in April 2008 and stayed there for five weeks. It became the biggest single in Ireland two years in a row in 2007 and 2008. He has collaborated with artists such as Shane McGowan and Gemma Hayes and toured all over the UK and Ireland/

Mundy will return to Birr Theatre on Saturday, December 17 for a winter show not to be missed.

Tickets cost €25 and are available here
