Ashling Murphy's school asks people to light a candle in her memory

On the first anniversary of Ashling Murphy's tragic death, the school where the much-loved Offaly woman taught has asked the public to light a candle in her memory.

In a post on social media, Durrow National School said its staff and pupils have been remembering Ashling - their 'shining light' - in a special way today.

"Please light a candle to keep her light shining," the school said.

It added that the 23-year-old from Blueball, Tullamore, was "missed so much, by all in our school."
