Mountlucas milestone for Ann Marie as visitors join weekly Offaly run

Last weekend's parkrun at Mountlucas Wind Farm, outside Daingean, attracted a total of 69 runners and walkers, many of whom stayed and chatted afterwards despite the raw January wind.

The gathering on Saturday morning included Ann Marie Doherty, a regular volunteer and runner in Mountlucas, who ran her 100th parkrun that morning.

This was the 206th Mountlucas parkrun, and visitors from Macroom in Cork and Mullingar were also present to take part on this occasion.

Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event for runners and walkers that takes place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 countries across the world.

Those interested in taking part in the Mountlucas Parkrun are welcome to turn up at 9.30am on Saturday morning to see what it's all about. See www.parkrun.ie/mountlucas to register and for more details.
