Lemanaghan music fundraiser is a great success

The Lemanaghan Bog Heritage and Conservation Group held a very successful fundraising night in Flynns Pub in Ballycumber on Friday night last.

The Lemanaghan-based organisation held the event to raise money for the work they are doing to promote heritage and to protect and conserve Lemanaghan Bog.

The group is opposed to the proposed wind farm development in the area by Bord na Móna.

The talented duo of Niamh agus Dathí kicked off 'Friday Night Live' and were followed on stage by KK Kenny and Ray Murphy, who are no strangers to the entertainment scene. They entertained the crowd with their renditions of well known Irish folk songs.

Next up was 'White Grass', a local and lively band who got the place rocking, before Ballycumber man Joe Flynn had people on their feet dancing the night away.

The 'Friday Night Live' fundraiser was a huge success with large crowds attending the event, demonstrating the strong community support for the group and their actions.

Special guest at the event was TD Carol Nolan, who spoke briefly to the crowd and offered her support to the people of the area.
