Sports car spectacle to finish in Tullamore

A sports car spectacle is coming to Tullamore next month.

RETRO Cannonball will finish in Tullamore on May 27 after stops in Wexford, Waterford, Cork, Tipperary over the course of the two-day event.

Proudly sponsored by Tullamore Credit Union, the popular fundraiser will see over 100 classic sports cars starting in Wexford before cruising through the countryside, coast and some of Ireland's most scenic spots before finishing in Offaly's county town.

A unique festival atmosphere is expected at the finish line at Tullamore Credit Union, Patrick Street on Saturday, May 27 at 6pm, where there will be free family entertainment and pectators can get up close, see some rare classic cars, take photographs, meet the drivers and enjoy the fun.

RETRO Cannonball starts in Wexford this year on May 26th at 9.30am on the quay and takes in the Copper Coast to Waterford City Centre for lunch and then on to Kinsale and overnight at the Radisson Hotel in Cork.

On day two the car convoy will make their way to Cashel for lunch and then up through the Hidden Heartlands for a big finish in Tullamore.

Some rare vehicles will be participating including Jaguar E-Type, Ferrari will be well represented with a number of 348 GTS, some beautiful Mercedes-Benz SL classics, a Lancia Beta, a BMW 635CSI, a Porsche 911 Carrera and a Porsche 911 Targa, an MG Midget, a Ford Escort Cosworth, a beautiful Chevrolet Corvette, a classic VW Beetle, a Ford Thunderbird, a mini cooper and many, many more.

Registration is also now open for Cannonball Ireland, the supercar event, taking place on September 15th-17th this year and a firm favourite with both drivers and spectators.

RETRO Cannonball is an altogether more laid-back experience but drivers and spectators still enjoy one of the most unique motoring fraternities in the world with breath-taking driving routes, luxurious hospitality and that rare ‘camaraderie’ that makes Cannonball a truly unforgettable experience.
