A Lidl store in Offaly will be fundraising for their charity partner Jigsaw which provide essential support to young people surrounding their mental health during the month of May.

Staff from the Lidl shop on Church Road, Tullamore will cycle to Germany and back, a distance of over 3,000 km on two training bikes in store from Thursday, May 11 until Sunday, May 14. The training bikes will be provided by Lidl's head office.

Deputy Store Manager in Lidl, Church Road, Tullamore Katalin Laszay said they are planning to highlight the work of Jigsaw and the importance of support for young people. “If anyone wants to join on a bike and ride they're more than welcome.”

The local Jigsaw team will also take part along with one of the store's supplier's, artisan food producer Florrie Purcell from The Scullery based in Nenagh, Co Tipperary who will have a table set up promoting her food and business. They produce an award winning range of delicious sauces, relishes and compotes.

During the four-day fundraiser there will also be face painting for children. Customers who wish to contribute to the fundraiser can donate money to Jigsaw in store and purchase a ticket to be entered into a raffle to win a large hamper.

Since 2018, Lidl has partnered with Jigsaw and pledged to raise €1 million as well as national awareness for youth mental health. Every Christmas the Tullamore store holds a trolley dash to raise funds for the charity also.
