Offaly duo among nominees for Rugby Players Ireland Awards

Two Offaly women are among the nominees for the Rugby Players Ireland Awards.

Kilcormac's Nichola Fryday, current captain of the Irish Women's Rugby team is among three nominees for the Bank of Ireland Xvs Players' Player of the Year.

Fryday, who plays with Exeter Chiefs,faces competition from Neve Jones of Gloucester Hartpury and Deirbhile Nic a Bháird of Old Belvedere RFC .

She is also shortlisted for the AIB Corporate Banking Women's Xvs Try of the Year for her try against Scotland in the TikTok Six Nations. Also shortlisted are Natasja Behan and Aoife Doyle for tries against Japan in the Test Series game,

Clara woman Aoife Dalton, who only made her debut for Ireland last year, is named among three players shortlisted for the Izest Marketing Women's XVsYoung Player of the Year.

Dalton, who plays with Old Belvedere, is listed alongside Behan and Sadhbh McGrath from Cooke RFC

Set to be hosted by former players Barry Murphy and Andrew Trimble, the Rugby Players Ireland Awards celebrates the on and off the field achievements of Rugby Players Ireland’s members and will take place on May 17 at The Clayton Hotel on the Burlington Road in Ballsbridge.
