Kinnitty pool tournament goes down to the wire!

Since the first week in February, 40 pool players in the picturesque village of Kinnitty have battled it out in a bid to win the coveted title of Giltraps Doubles Pool Champions 2023.

The finals took place over the June Bank Holiday Monday in the popular Giltrap's pub with a third and fourth place place-off between Kevin Egan and Eleanor Clendennen versus Mick Molloy and John Clendennen, with Kevin and Eleanor taking third place.

The final was a real thriller with the first to seven frames winning, and at six frames all, it came down to the very last frame after almost 1,000 games of pool in the tournament. Gerry Blake and Shane Ryan emerged victorious narrowly defeating Adrian Flaherty and Francis Carroll to be crowned overall champions.
